Eric Valerio Don't think the cover is a ploy; this album is as cartoony and fun as those five Pokémon-on-acid characters suggest. Lots of energy, and packed with many unique sounds, this is just another shining example of the awesome folk metal coming from Russia today. Favorite track: Elemental Tales.

Andreas Muskat It´s have so many different Elements this Album play with. Svartby goes straight his own Way. And this Album is only great.

Shaun Black Not normally a fan of this over the top, bouncy, homosexual type of metal but this shit is beyond over the top. A fucking xylophone?? When was the last time you heard a fucking xylophone?? Let alone in metal. Anyway, this turned out to be a fun, galloping, goofy metal experience. I'm kind of shocked at myself. Favorite track: Scum from Underwater.

3rd conceptual album about imps of the 6 elements.

There are 6 Elements in the magic circle of Svartby: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Wood and Mushrooms! Yes, Mushrooms are a separate mystical element, and every single mushroom you can come across in the forest has its own imp.

The impersonation of each Element are small devils. They are born by the Element itself and dissolved in it after death.

These are semi-sapient, merry and mad beasts, who can be sometimes controlled by Svartby's witches, and only in few cases. Most of the time, they're rampaging all by themselves, laying destruction on humans and restoring nature's rights.

Svartby Санкт Петербург, Russian Federation

SVARTBY is a band from Saint-Petersburg, Russia that plays vivid, merry and brutal folk-metal in Swedish and English. The lyrics tell about wild magical creatures living in 'Svartby' (the fictional Black Village) - witches, imps, dwarfs - definitely unkind to human folk, but at the same time merry, nature-loving and nice living beings with a good sense of humor. ... more
